We went
to this restaurant on a Sunday at lunchtime. The
starter was their great homemade yeast rolls.
Carl
ordered a chicken fried ribeye with salad and macaroni and cheese. He had high praise for the macaroni and
cheese. He also ordered fries (probably
so he could put ketchup on his plate without a comment from me). Dave
ordered a ribeye steak, salad with their “house” dressing, which was Hot Bacon
Vinaigrette, and a baked potato. The menu
says that the baked potatoes are lowered into a vat of boiling pine tree rosin
where they are baked and wrapped in brown paper for serving. The potato was
served with butter that had cheese and seasonings added. I
ordered the lunch filet, broccoli soup, and yellow squash in a cream cheese
sauce. Both of
our steaks were cooked perfectly and delicious. The soup was very good. There
are only three dessert choices. We tried
the fried apricot pie which was wonderful.
Terrific
service paired with an interesting décor and atmosphere. According to The Steer Commander, you can’t go wrong when Jerry Clower
is playing in the men’s restroom! This
restaurant should be on your list of places to eat when you are in the area. 3 Thumbs Up!
